One Lysol Wipe at a Time

New house = moving.

All of my stuff has been packed up and been sitting in a barn for the last 7 months... Next to the barn is a chicken coop... And behind the barn, a large field... All of this spells = RATS.

We moved out of our last place in a hurry, so there really wasn't a lot of thought put into the packing process... And it was the middle of winter. By June, it became strongly apparent that we had definitely not packed correctly for storage on a farm... Evidenced by the rats eating anything they could get into. They got into corn meal, cake mixes, pasta, cereal, jello... Yeah, we lost nearly all the food that wasn't in cans or glass...

And as we started moving everything out of the barn and into a storage unit (not much room for the stuff in the house while were still renovating) the things we've decided to bring to the house have had to carefully be sorted, washed or Lysol wiped to death. I wasn't even cringing anymore as I wiped the rat footprints off my shelves and yoga ball, but I'm not looking forward to cleaning up the rest of it as it comes out of the storage unit in a few months (definitely learnedly lesson about food in storage... Not to mention they ate everything in the barn, so there was no perishable food left to move).

The laundry would be a heck of a lot easier to deal with if we could actually hook up our washer and drier. For now, it is piled in my dining room and taken in small batches to my brother-in-law's house, or the laundromat.
